Artist Statement

 

My inspiration is drawn from both the natural world and the phenomena of sound. From an early age I have nurtured a deep fascination with the way we perceive, interact and communicate with sound, this forms the foundation of my practice.

 

My works are intended to indulge the human compulsion to explore sound and rhythm, to encourage interaction and expression, cultivating a continuation of the creative process.

 

As a forged metal artist the focus of my work is to release the potential energy within the material. By fusing ancient craft with modern technologies, the resulting works explore and employ the versatility of metals, for both sound and sculptural forms.
